Terms of Use — Gecko

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Gecko mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Gecko ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Gecko. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian. Climbing and training activities carry inherent risk — you are responsible for your own safety and for following gym rules and professional guidance.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at noammiller1@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Service
Upload malicious code or interfere with other users' accounts
Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
Use automated means to access the Service without our permission

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the climbing logs, notes, and other content you submit ("User Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display User Content solely to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit your User Content and that it does not violate others' rights.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Gecko Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription at $5.99 per month or $49.99 per year (prices may vary by region and currency). Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm a purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

You can manage, change, or cancel your subscription at any time in your device settings: on iPhone/iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, open Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. You can also use Manage subscription in the Gecko app profile settings.

If you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of the paid period. After that, your account returns to the free plan with the limits described below. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

We may change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes apply to subsequent billing periods, not retroactively.

6. Free plan

Gecko offers a free plan with limited features. On the free plan you can use up to 3 saved climbing sessions, 3 active projects, 3 Climb Roulette games, 2 guided workouts, and 1 strength metrics save. Style radar and climber type insights require Gecko Pro. We may adjust free-plan limits with notice where required by law.

7. Health and safety disclaimer

Gecko is a training and logging tool, not medical or professional coaching advice. The Service does not replace qualified instruction, proper warm-up, or risk assessment. Always climb within your ability and consult a professional for injury or training concerns. We are not liable for injuries or accidents related to climbing or training activities.

8. Intellectual property

The Gecko name, logo, app design, and original content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our materials without written permission, except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, but sections that should survive (disclaimers, limitations, governing law) remain in effect.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GECKO AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) $50 USD.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Tel Aviv, Israel, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country requires otherwise.
